About Drew's Day

Andrew "Drew" Humphreys, a wonderful young man, who battled his whole life with Spina Bifida was a strong member of the community and benifitted from the long lasting benefits of Mountaineer Spina Bifida Camp. Drew attended the camp for ten years. Here, he developed self-esteem, social skills, and self reliance while he participated in recreational and social activities.

Drew passed away two years ago due to complications of Spina Bifida, and Drew's Day was created in his memory. Drew's Day is an annual 5K walk/run, whose proceeds go toward providing scholarships for West Virginia chindren that suffer from Spina Bifida. Each individual scholarship, about $1000, provides a child with one week at the Mountaineer Spina Bifida Camp.

Our goal for the race, is to make it possible for all Spina Bifida children in the state, to be able to attend camp if they so desire. It was Drew’s favorite place to be (and also Ryan Fox-another camper who passed away a few weeks after Andrew). We would love to see these children have the opportunity and joy to make life-long memories and friends.

Andrew loved to help others and we ask you to help support Drew's Day today by registering for this year's 5K walk/run. Register Today!

Not sure you want to participate in the walk/run? You can still help these beautiful children, by sending any donation you feel you can afford to:
